“He played 23 years,he still has 2 less titles than Michael Jordan, Michael Jordan played all 82 games 8 times, how many times did Lebron do it? Michael Jordan is a 10x Scoring Champion, how many times did Lebron do it?” Smith said.

“Michael Jordan is 9x All Nba defensive player, how many times did Lebron do it? There’s nothing to discuss. Michael Jordan averaged over 30 in the postseason 7 times, how many times did Lebron do it?, there’s nothing to discuss, he’s approaching year 24 and still has 2 less titles.”

The foundation of Jordan’s GOAT argument largely revolves around his flawless 6-0 NBA Finals record and his two separate three-peat championship runs with the Chicago Bulls. Meanwhile, James’ supporters often point to his unmatched longevity, and ability to carry immense expectations across more than two decades in the league.

Charles Barkley Questions Whether LeBron James Should Remain With the Lakers

LeBron James’ future with the Los Angeles Lakers has become one of the biggest storylines of the NBA offseason. As speculation continues regarding his next move, former NBA star Charles Barkley recently shared his thoughts on what lies ahead for both James and the Lakers during an appearance on Get Up.

“It doesn’t do him [Lebron] any good staying in LA,” Barkley said. “Number one, they’re not going to be competitive in the West. And also, it’s time for the Lakers to turn the team over to Luka. LeBron’s not going to play better as he gets older. 

“The Lakers got swept. Even if they had Luka, they’re not a contender in the West. They’re not going to compete with the Spurs. They’re not gonna compete with OKC or the Minnesota Timberwolves with a 42 year old guy. They’re not going to be competitive. So, if he stays in LA, he doing it for off the court reasons.”

James is now officially an unrestricted free agent following the expiration of his $52.6 million contract. While many league insiders continue to believe that he would prefer to remain in Los Angeles, the structure and financial details of any potential new deal remain uncertain.
