Stephen A. Smith predicts when the Packers will fire Matt LaFleur

The Green Bay Packers have started the season off in dreadful fashion having lost two of their three opening games.

For an organisation that always aspires to return to the Super Bowl, Matt LaFleur has much to correct ahead of next week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Green Bay kicked off Week Three by handing the Atlanta Falcons their first win of the season at a frustrated Lambeau Field.

Fans in Wisconsin directed their anger towards the players after the game, with Tucker Kraft hitting back over their decision to boo.

With the season off to a sour start in Green Bay, Stephen A. Smith has already predicted that LaFleur will lose his job this season.

The Packers did make the playoffs last season, but they were dumped out of the postseason at the first hurdle by the Chicago Bears.

LaFleur is facing a tricky run of games over the coming weeks, which could have a real impact on his future at Lambeau Field.

“Skip [Bayless], I got to admit this. Let me tell you something right now: I think it’s the end of Matt LaFleur. I think Matt LaFleur will be lucky to finish this first half of the season with a job as the head coach for the Green Bay Packers,” Smith said on First Take.

“They look like a soft team. They look like a team that can be pushed around. They clearly are a team ill-equipped to win games without Micah Parsons.”

Since being hired in 2019, LaFleur has failed to take the Packers to the Super Bowl. Of course, he did reach two Conference Championships, but he has been unable to get them to the big game.

The last two seasons have even seen the Packers fail to progress beyond the Wild Card round.

It would be a huge decision to move on from LaFleur during the season, but it is apparent that Smith feels the Packers can no longer function as they currently do under the 46-year-old.
