Stephanie Vaquer dethrones Liv Morgan for WWE women's title in stunning house show title change

Stephanie Vaquer is once again the WWE Women’s World Champion. The native Chilean pulled off the rare untelevised title change at a house show Saturday night in Santiago, Chile, dethroning Liv Morgan at WWE’s live event at the Movistar Arena.

Becky Lynch served as the special guest referee for the title match.

The finish saw Vaquer hit Morgan with her corkscrew moonsault before Lynch counted the pinfall, ending Morgan’s reign at 147 days. Lynch raised Vaquer’s hand after the match before the two embraced as the new champion celebrated her victory.

Vaquer’s second ascension to the throne arrived less than a week after Morgan successfully defended the belt against her on Monday’s episode of “WWE Raw.” That match ended in controversy after interference from Morgan’s Judgement Day stablemates, Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, helped Morgan retain.

“Raw” general manager Adam Pearce subsequently announced another rematch for Saturday in Santiago and appointed Lynch as special guest referee to maintain order.

Saturday’s victory begins Vaquer’s second reign as Women’s World Champion. Morgan previously defeated Vaquer for the title at WrestleMania 42 earlier this year.

The title change is particularly unusual because it occurred at an untelevised WWE live event rather than on one of the promotion’s weekly shows or premium live events.

WWE quickly acknowledged the result on its social media channels, making Vaquer’s championship victory official as she celebrated one of the biggest moments in front of her countrymen and countrywomen in Chile.
