Following the signing of a standout rookie safety, the Steelers have added the last piece to their 2026 practice squad. Here’s a look at every player who made it, including an International Player Pathway exemption.

  • Kyler Baugh, DT
  • Sebastian Castro, DB
  • Bishop Fitzgerald, S
  • Travis Homer, RB
  • Max Hurleman, WR
  • Brandon Johnson, WR
  • Steven Jones, OL
  • Lake McRee, TE
  • Doug Nester, OL
  • Lew Nichols, RB
  • Esezi Otomewo, DT
  • Doneiko Slaughter, DB
  • Brandon Smith, WR
  • Bradyn Swinson, OLB
  • Car’lin Vigers, DB
  • Julius Welschof, OLB (IPP program)
  • Jacoby Windmon, LB

Fitzgerald, a First-Team All-American rookie safety out of USC, was the most recent of these practice squad additions, signing with the Steelers on Wednesday.

Pittsburgh’s initial practice squad is loaded with talent, particularly when it comes to their running back room and secondary. This also means that fan-favorite linebacker Elandon Roberts may not be in consideration to rejoin the Steelers at this time.
