The two Greater Cincinnati state baseball champions were honored by the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. Badin stepped onto the field to be recognized on June 22, before the Reds’ matchup with the Milwaukee Brewers. St. Xavier was celebrated on Aug. 4 before Cincinnati’s contest with the Athletics.

The Badin Rams won the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III baseball state championship on June 12, ending a 30-year drought in poetic fashion.

Head coach Brion Treadway was the Rams’ winning pitcher in 1996, and he got to see his son, Brooks, take the mound and get the win in Akron three decades later.

St. Xavier ended its title drought just hours earlier on June 12, taking out Greater Catholic League-South rivals Moeller for their first championship since 2003. With a 4-2 win against the Crusaders in Akron, the Bombers completed a three-season turnaround after winning just 10 games in 2023.

Players and coaches from each team were welcomed onto the field during the pregame festivities at Great American Ball Park.

After announcing the representatives on the field, the Reds presented both Badin and St. Xavier with the “Reds Country” Achievement Award in recognition of their historic state title victories.
