Southern Kaduna killing: It’s unthinkable, barbaric – CNCN

The Congress of Northern Christians of Nigeria (CNCN), Kaduna State chapter, has observed with dismay the continuous killings of innocent people by gunmen in different parts of the country without serious measures taken by the authorities concerned to bring the barbaric experience to its logical conclusion.

“In some instances, many people have had their houses and properties completely destroyed by gunmen, besides the displacement of millions of Nigerians for decades in the country without concrete measures taken by the government to ensure such ugly, devilish, and inhuman behaviour comes to an end,” the CNCN observed in a statement issued by its state chairman, Elder Bulus Dogarawa.

The group explained that it is uncalled for and unthinkable for a number of people, for no reason, to attack people in their sleep, killing them, while others were injured and their houses and property destroyed.

According to the statement, “How can it be that those who carry out such illicit acts move freely in society while those whose loved ones are killed continue to suffer with little or no meaningful assistance rendered to them to start a new life?”

He appealed to the Federal Government to take proactive steps towards addressing the issue of terrorism in the country, suggesting that efforts should be made to trace its root cause with a view to providing solutions for the country to overcome the mess it found itself in.

Dogarawa observed, “The time has come for Nigerians to come up with workable solutions that will deliver us from these years of madness, killings, kidnapping for no reason, and destruction that many Nigerians have suffered.

“Whoever is found to have a hand in what the citizens are going through should not be spared but should be made to face the full wrath of the law of the land.”

He noted that the lawlessness being experienced in parts of the country through the activities of criminal elements has deprived the land of good things and brought hardship to many homes.

He called on the government and security agents to redouble their efforts in tackling the security challenges in the country.
