Some World Cup final tickets may cost more than your car — or house

The whole world will have eyes on New Jersey this weekend as the World Cup final takes place in East Rutherford.

Argentia and Spain are facing off in the final match, competing for the champion title.

Here’s when and how to watch, as well as how much a ticket might cost you.

The World Cup final is scheduled for Sunday, July 19, at 3 p.m.

The game is to take place in New York New Jersey Stadium, also known as MetLife Stadium.

Luckily, tickets are still available for the World Cup finals.

Unluckily, you may have to take out a loan, or sell your car, to be able to afford them.

USA TODAY reported an average ticket purchase price of $11,327 for the 2026 World Cup final match.

According to TickPick, this is shaping up to be the most expensive sporting event in U.S. history.

As of July 17 at 11 a.m., the cheapest tickets on various resale websites are as follows:

• TickPick: $7,969.

• StubHub: $8,301.

• SeatGeek: $8,014.

• Gametime: $7,713.

• Ticketmaster: $8,515.

• Vivid Seats: $8,177.

The more expensive tickets start at $20,000, with Ticketmaster having a lower bowl seat for $21,866.

Currently, SeatGeek has a ticket for a seat behind the goal listed at $142.200. StubHub has a lower bowl seat listed at $69,246.
