Sokoto: Five killed, three injured in Kebbi bandit attack
The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed that five people were killed and three others injured in a bandit attack on communities in Kebbe Local Government Area of the state.
DAILY POST reports that the attack occurred on Thursday evening in Girkau community and other settlements within Girkau Ward, with residents also reporting abductions and cattle rustling.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Ahmed Rufai, confirmed the incident in a telephone conversation with journalists on Friday.
Rufai said, “Five persons were killed, three others were injured, while unspecified animals were rustled in the attack.”
He said the command was still gathering information on the incident, including the number of residents who may have been abducted.

Rufai assured residents that the police and other security agencies remained committed to protecting lives and property in the affected communities.
