The game between the FSU Seminoles and SMU Mustangs is delayed after Doak Campbell Stadium lost power.

According to ESPN, a generator blew when they tried to turn on the lights, causing the power outage in parts of the stadium. The game was supposed to start at 7:30 p.m. ET, but a new start time has not been assigned as they work to restore power to the stadium.

It is an embarrassing moment for the Seminoles, who are looking to pull off the upset against the No. 19 Mustangs, who are opening their season on the road. FSU opened the season with a 34-17 win over New Mexico State in Week 0.

Here is a look at how FSU fans and people across the college football world reacted to the game being delayed, with many mocking the Seminoles.

I don’t want to say Florida State has become a cursed program, but have they considered a stadium exorcism?

This will give Norvell and the staff more time to gameplan. We lucked out.

Have you tried blowing into the cartridge

— Bud Elliott (@BudElliott3) September 7, 2026

FSU is trying to make the working conditions for Mike Norvell so intolerable he simply resigns https://t.co/COZUGsU9nA

This is buffoonish, of course we do this on national television.
