Sky Sports: Premier League club make contact with Man Utd to outline possibility of negotiating £60m deal
Newcastle United have approached Manchester United to make it crystal clear that Lewis Hall is off-limits this summer.
According to Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie, an ‘initial enquiry’ made by the Red Devils has been swiftly rebuffed by Newcastle.

United’s links with Hall have increased in recent weeks after they sanctioned the arrivals of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans before turning their attention to the defence.
However, they have not gone as far as testing Newcastle’s resolve with an offer, and are now highly unlikely to do so due to the Magpies’ firm stance.
They have already reluctantly bid farewell to Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali since the window opened, while talisman Bruno Guimaraes is on the verge of completing a switch to Arsenal.
Add that to the fact that Eddie Howe’s five-year tenure came to an end last week when he stepped down from his role, and you could understand why the Newcastle board are closing the door on any further major outgoings.
Why have United been targeting Hall?
Hall is undoubtedly one of the side’s most valuable assets, having made a real name for himself since becoming a key player under Howe in recent seasons.
The 21-year-old joined boyhood club Newcastle from Chelsea, where he was a graduate of Cobham academy, in a £35 million transfer in the summer of 2024.
He had spent the 2023/2024 campaign on loan at St. James’ Park, after which his buy obligation was activated.
His stellar showings in the top flight and across Europe have led to United viewing Hall as an ideal successor to Luke Shaw, 31, whose contract is due to expire next summer.

Yet, INEOS will have to either find an alternative before the deadline or wait until this time next year to add the England youngster to their ranks.
