Several well-known free agent DEs available if Jaguars are interested

If the Jacksonville Jaguars want to give their pass rush a boost heading into training camp in July, there are still several well-known edge rushers available on the free agent market.

At the beginning of each offseason, Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com puts together his list of the 101 best free agents available. Then, as those players are signed, he updates his free agency big board.

Currently, as we sit here in early June, 13 of Rosenthal’s 101 top free agents remain unsigned. Of those 13 players, six are pass rushers.

Adding to this unit isn’t a must, but having a veteran presence to compete for rotational snaps behind Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker may not be a bad idea.

Over the course of an NFL game, four or sometimes even five edge rushers can see playing time. Currently competing for those rotational snaps are rookies Wesley Williams and Zach Durfee, along with second-year players and former UDFAs BJ Green and Danny Striggow.

It’s an inexperienced group, and with that comes uncertainty.

As good as the Jaguars defense was last season, one area of improvement is in their ability to get after the quarterback consistently. Last season, the Jaguars ranked a modest 18th in pressure rate in 2025 and 27th in sacks.

For what it’s worth, as each offseason is different, GM James Gladstone did show a willingness to make late veteran additions to the roster in 2025.
