Seahawks to bring in Cleveland Browns camp darling wide receiver for tryout

The Seattle Seahawks are set to host a tryout for wide receiver Luke Floriea, a standout for the Cleveland Browns this preseason, this week, according to ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler.

The 5-foot-8 wideout was one of the lone bright spots for the embattled Browns, catching five passes for 60 yards and three touchdowns in the team’s preseason outings. Two of those touchdowns came in the Browns’ preseason finale against the New England Patriots, while the other came against the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 of the preseason.

Floriea’s performance quickly earned him fan-favorite status among Browns fans. However, unlike last year, he was not added to the team’s practice squad, making him a free agent.

While he’s undersized for a wide receiver, that didn’t stop him from being a productive piece for the Kent State offense. In three years, Floriea totaled 100 receptions for 1,321 yards and 12 touchdowns. Following the 2025 season, where he posted career highs for Kent State, he was undrafted and signed with the Browns.

Currently, the Seahawks have three wideouts on their practice squad: Ricky White II, Emmanuel Henderson Jr. and Julian Hicks. The team could be looking for another body to add to their wide receiver room after long-time Seahawk Cody White left for the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice squad on Monday.
