Seahawks sign Trevon Diggs, still plan on signing Terrion Arnold
The Seattle Seahawks announced that they will sign a former Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers cornerback to a one-year deal.
Diggs started his career with the Cowboys but was later waived and joined the Packers last year, who later cut him.
In 2021, Diggs tied an NFL record for having seven interceptions in his first six games of the year. He ended the season with 11 interceptions, which was a franchise record.
But for the past few years, Diggs has been hampered by injuries, which have damaged his career. Now, he gets a chance with the defending Super Bowl Champion Seahawks.
Diggs may be joined by another former Alabama player, Terrion Arnold. Arnold, who played with the Detroit Lions, was cut after he was charged with eight counts of felony kidnapping and armed robbery.
If the Seahawks sign Arnold, he will be put on the exempt list, meaning he can’t participate in practices and/or games but can attend team meetings and work on individual drills. He would also be eligible for any treatment or rehab should that be necessary.
The good news is Arnold will still receive his paycheck; the bad news is the Seahawks don’t yet know when or if he will be able to join the team.
As of now, that is a risk they may be willing to take.
