Seahawks roster cuts 2026: Seahawks waive rookie cornerback Michael Dansby

The Seattle Seahawks are set to waive another part of their 2026 NFL Draft class, cornerback Michael Dansby, according to ESPN’s Brady Henderson.

Dansby, a cornerback out of Arizona, was selected by Seattle in the seventh round with the No. 255 pick, Seattle’s final pick of this year. The rookie totaled four tackles in the preseason games, with two of those coming in the finale against the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s the second draft pick Seattle has moved on from, with receiver Emmanuel Henderson Jr being the other.

Seahawks fans may not have seen the last of him, however. Henderson said that Dansby has looked like a candidate for the practice squad. In order for him to join Seattle’s practice squad, Dansby will first have to clear waivers. Monday at 10 am PT is the waiver wire deadline.

Seattle’s secondary struggled for a majority of the preseason, with the Seahawks repeatedly looking for outside help to secure its depth, including a trade on Sunday to acquire Toledo rookie Avery Smith.
