Seahawks re-sign ‘Hard Knocks’ star Uso Seumalo to practice squad

After signing safety Rodney Thomas II from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, the Seattle Seahawks weren’t done shuffling on Wednesday. 

According to his agency, the Seahawks signed defensive tackle and ‘Hard Knocks’ star Uso Seumalo to their practice squad, three weeks after the undrafted rookie was released from the 16-man squad. 

Seumalo, who spent training camp with Seattle, was released during the cut from 90 to 53 but was initially signed back to the team’s practice squad. After his initial release from the practice squad, in a move to make room for veteran tackle Bobby Hart, he went unsigned around the league.

The Seahawks also added wide receiver Malick Meiga, according to a report from 3 Down Nation. 

Meiga, a UDFA out of Coastal Carolina this spring, spent training camp and the start of preseason with the Carolina Panthers. The Canadian wideout was waived with an injury designation after the Hall of Fame game, during which he caught one pass for 13 yards.

Seattle is set to practice on Wednesday afternoon, which should offer the first chance to see Seumalo back and Meiga in his new uniform ahead of the team’s Week 3 game against the Washington Commanders.
