Scott Sinclair tells Kasper Hogh what comes with £11m Celtic price tag

· · 2 min read

Scott Sinclair has warned Kasper Hogh that criticism comes with the territory at Celtic as the £11million striker looks to rediscover his goalscoring form.

Hogh arrived from Bodo/Glimt during the summer but has scored just three goals for Martin O’Neill’s side, with all three coming in his hat-trick against Kilmarnock last month.

The Danish forward has since struggled to find the net and came under particular scrutiny following Celtic’s 3-0 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox.

Former Hoops winger Sinclair knows all about the demands of playing at Parkhead and believes Hogh’s significant transfer fee inevitably brings greater expectations.

Speaking to STV Sport, Sinclair said: “I think that’s what comes with the price tag.

“I think when you come in for that money, you’ve got to hit the ground running. And also, the fans expect you to be scoring every single week, not just now and then.”

He continued: “This is the pressure of playing for Celtic. And when you’re not scoring and not doing as well as the fans would like, they’re going to let you know.”

Despite Hogh’s difficult spell, Sinclair remains confident the striker has the quality to turn things around.

He said: “With his stature and the player he is, I’m sure he will override that and make sure he keeps scoring goals and keeps creating chances.

“The main thing is the team winning games, and if he can help that, I’m sure he’ll get the fans back onside. But as I said, part and parcel of playing for the biggest team in Scotland, you’re going to get the criticism.

“However, you’ve got to ride with it and make sure you perform every week.”
