According to Axios, citing a US official, the crown prince “expressed concern and asked for clarity about the plan of action.” The report also quoted another source familiar with the discussion as saying Prince Mohammed urged Trump to “de-escalate and refrain from launching the strikes.”

Reports say Saudi Arabia fears any US attack on Iran’s energy facilities or large-scale strikes on bridges and power plants could trigger retaliation.

The source said Saudi officials are worried Tehran could respond by attacking energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries if such strikes take place.
