San Antonio Spurs new color-coded parking system: What fans need to know

· · 3 min read

Spurs fans heading to Frost Bank Center for Thursday’s preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks will see the arena’s color-coded parking system, which uses Fiesta-inspired colors to help them navigate parking areas before and after events.

Some fans saw the system Sunday during the Spurs’ Silver & Black Open Scrimmage.

Thursday’s game will be its next test as crowds return to the arena.

Parking around the arena is divided into six color-coded areas: Red, Silver, Black, Orange, Pink and Teal. Maps released ahead of the season show where each area is located and recommend routes for drivers approaching Frost Bank Center from I-35 South, I-37 South and I-10 East.

The Orange, Pink and Teal areas add a splash of color to the Spurs’ familiar Silver and Black, giving fans a visual reference for finding their parking area.

The maps also mark four entrances to Frost Bank Center – Southwest, Southeast, East and Northeast – to help fans find their way from the parking areas to the arena.

The color-coded system also directs traffic after events, with designated exit routes for each lot.

Fans parked in the Red Lot may be directed toward North Walters Street or East Commerce Street. Silver Lot traffic is routed toward East Commerce Street or I-10 East, while Black Lot traffic is directed toward I-10 East. Vehicles from the Orange and Teal lots are routed toward I-35 North.

Drivers may leave Frost Bank Center by a different route from the one they took to arrive. They should follow the exit route designated for their lot and traffic directions when leaving the property.

The Spurs unveiled the parking changes ahead of the 2026-27 season, and fans got an early look at the colors and traffic patterns during Sunday’s open scrimmage. Thursday’s first preseason game will give fans another chance to navigate the system under game-day conditions before the regular season begins.

The Spurs’ home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 20, against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
