Russia has warned residents of Kyiv and foreign citizens to leave the Ukrainian capital immediately as it launches a barrage of missile and drone strikes.

The warning affects the personnel of diplomatic missions and international organizations as Moscow pounds several military and administrative infrastructure.

Russia based its action on the May 22 drone attack on the academic building and dormitory of a college of the Lugansk Pedagogical University in Starobelsk, the Lugansk People’s Republic.

The Foreign Ministry, in a statement on Monday, called it “another glaring manifestation of the Nazi and terrorist essence of the Kyiv regime which deliberately attacks civilians.”

Moscow accused the “Zelensky junta and its Western sponsors” of supplying the weapons used for committing crimes against Russians in violation of international humanitarian law.

The federation said the disregard for the Geneva 1949 conventions, additional protocols on civilian protection, and the 1989 Convention on the Rights of the Child has “exhausted our patience.”

Russia announced its forces are conducting a major attack against the Ukrainian defence industry in Kyiv, including facilities for designing, manufacturing and programming drones.

The drones, according to the statement, are deployed with the support of NATO specialists, who allegedly supply components, provide reconnaissance and target acquisition data.

Russia’s “systemic strikes” will target Ukraine’s “decision-making centres and command posts.” The ongoing offensive is regarded as the largest aerial assault on Kyiv since the war began.
