Rumble Ponies to honor NYS softball champions Deposit-Hancock
BINGHAMTON — The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets, will spotlight the Deposit-Hancock High School softball team at Mirabito Stadium on Wednesday, August 5.
The Rumble Ponies will recognize Deposit-Hancock for winning the 2026 New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Class C state title, which was their fourth in the past five seasons.
The Eagles captured the victory in a nail-biting 4-3 win over Galway at Greenlight Networks Grand Slam Park in June to complete the season with a 23-2 record.
Potential Hancock-Deposit merger playing out across state lines
Deposit-Hancock softball has a reputation for dominance and perseverance, notably in the postseason, during which the team has amassed six consecutive Section 4 Class C titles.
Players on the all-star team were also recently recognized by the New York State Sports Writers and Coaches Organization for Girls Sports. Ivy Tice (OF/P) and Kadyn Appley (3B) were named First Team All-State selections. Victoria Green (1B) was named a Third Team All-State selection.
The Rumble Ponies will honor Deposit-Hancock players and coaches before Binghamton’s game against the Hartford Yard Goats.
