Rotation but real quality in Carabao Cup: Liverpool-Chelsea XIs are in

The English League Cup serves up a blockbuster round-of-16 clash between Liverpool and Chelsea, who have featured in 9 of the last 10 finals of this competition.

Today’s match takes place at Anfield, as Xabi Alonso returns once again to his former home, with these lineups:

Liverpool: Mamardashvili; Araujo, Gomez, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Nyoni, McConnell; Ngumoha, Gravenberch, Gakpo; Koumas.

Iraola rotates his squad today, giving opportunities to the likes of Koumas, Ngumoha, Nyoni and Mamardashvili.

Chelsea: Penders; Acheampong, Lacroix, Fofana; Gusto, Caicedo, Lavia, Henderson, Pedro Neto; Welbeck, Rogers.

Xabi also rotates his squad, though less than might have been expected.
