Five years later, the wildcard team reunited and is into the 2026 US Open women’s doubles final. The duo will face the top seeded team of Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend.

Need their best game to take out Siniakova and Townsend

Montgomery and Krueger will be the underdogs in the final. Siniakova and Townsend have won Grand Slams together. Siniakova is vying for her 12th doubles Grand Slam women’s doubles title and her 39th career WTA doubles title. Townsend will compete for her fourth Grand Slam women’s doubles title and 17th WTA title.

Between them, Montgomery and Krueger have one WTA doubles title. Krueger won that one with Sloane Stephens a couple of years ago at the Charleston Open.

Montgomery and Krueger will compete against Siniakova and Townsend in the 2026 US Open women’s doubles final on Friday, September 11.

Whatever happens, tennis fans hope to see more of this young American team together in WTA tournaments throughout 2026 and at the Australian Open in 2027.
