Report: Ravens fill final practice squad spot with TE Nick Vannett

The Baltimore Ravens have filled the final opening on their practice squad with an experienced offensive contributor.

According to The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec, Baltimore is signing veteran tight end Nick Vannett, completing a group that provides the organization with developmental prospects and experienced insurance across several positions.

Vannett returns to the AFC North with 121 regular-season appearances and 54 starts during a career that began with the Seattle Seahawks. The former Ohio State standout has recorded 108 receptions for 1,012 yards and nine touchdowns since Seattle selected him in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft. The 6-foot-6, 261-pound Vannett has also spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams. He returned to Seattle during the 2026 offseason but did not make the Seahawks’ initial 53-man roster.

Ravens final two practice spots will be filled by veteran TE Nick Vannett, most recently with the Seahawks; and OT AJ Arcuri, most recently with the Rams. Arcuri is 29. Vannett is 33.

Vannett gives Baltimore another traditional in-line tight end who can contribute as a blocker and provide assistance on special teams. His experience should allow him to prepare for an elevation without requiring an extended developmental period. The Ravens already have Mark Andrews, Durham Smythe, Matthew Hibner and Josh Cuevas on the active roster, leaving little room for another tight end during the initial roster construction. Keeping Vannett on the practice squad gives Baltimore veteran insurance if injuries affect the position.

Practice-squad rosters remain fluid throughout the season, but the addition gives the Ravens a player who understands the demands of a supporting role. Vannett’s experience and blocking ability make him a sensible final piece for a practice squad designed to give Baltimore immediate depth and long-term developmental options.
