Report: Ja'Kobi Lane set to return for Ravens against Browns

· · 2 min read

The Ravens are close to bringing back rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane for Sunday’s game against the Browns.

Lane is “good to go” after completing a full week of practice, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported Saturday, citing a source. That development is expected to facilitate his activation from injured reserve on Saturday ahead of the AFC North matchup. Baltimore listed Lane as questionable Friday with a wrist injury, despite his full participation all week. Fowler’s report points to a return, although the Ravens had not announced his activation at the time.

Lane’s return would give Tyler Huntley another receiving option as the backup quarterback makes his second consecutive start. Lamar Jackson was ruled out Friday with an ankle injury after missing another week of practice.

The rookie has been working back from wrist surgery and returned to practice this week. Coach Jesse Minter had previously left open the possibility that Lane could play against Cleveland, and the full practice schedule provided an encouraging step toward that outcome.

Baltimore received positive news elsewhere at receiver on its final injury report. Rashod Bateman finished Friday as a full participant with a shoulder injury and received no game designation. Zay Flowers, who was limited with a toe injury, also received no game designation.

Getting Lane back would add depth to that group, but his workload remains to be determined. His return to the roster won’t clarify how many snaps or targets he will get after the layoff. The Ravens enter Sunday at 4-1, one game ahead of Cleveland. With Jackson sidelined, another available receiver would give Huntley and offensive coordinator Declan Doyle more options as Baltimore tries to extend its division lead.
