Report: Jaguars offensive lineman undergoes surgery, will 'miss some time'
Jacksonville Jaguars‘ offensive lineman Patrick Mekari has undergone back surgery, according to Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport.
As Garafolo put it, Mekari will “miss some time.” However, the Jaguars do expect him to play this season at some point.
The team has not decided if Mekari will begin the 2026 season on injured reserve. If he does, he will have to miss a minimum of four games.

Mekari has been sidelined during training camp, not taking part in the team portions of practice. In his place, we’ve seen several other players line up at right guard, including Walker Little — who is out injured as of now — Jonah Monheim, and Wyatt Milum.
Injuries have hit the Jaguars’ offensive line unit hard this summer. In addition to being without Mekari and Little, Chuma Edoga will miss some time as well. Cole Van Lanen remains on the PUP list.
Mekari started 14 games last season for the Jaguars. He was signed to a three-year, $37.5 million deal during the 2025 offseason.
