Report: Benfica ready to trigger release clause for Köln’s Kaminski

According to Sky Germany, Benfica are prepared to trigger the release clause in Jakub Kaminski‘s contract at 1. FC Köln, with the clause believed to be worth around €20 million.

Although negotiations between the two clubs are reportedly still ongoing, Köln remain confident that the deal will be completed. Kaminski is also said to be keen on taking the next step in his career by joining one of Europe’s leading clubs, with Benfica able to offer the prospect of Europa League football next season.

The 24-year-old is coming off an impressive debut campaign with Effzeh after arriving from Wolfsburg last summer. He registered seven goals and three assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances, establishing himself as one of Köln’s standout performers during the 2025/26 season.
