The Detroit Red Wings have a lot to figure out this summer.

There’s the Dylan Larkin trade request, of course. There’s also the fact that they missed the playoffs despite being in a comfortable position with just a couple months to play. Changes have to be made.

Free agency opens on July 1, and the Red Wings have a ton of cap space. That creates plenty of intrigue, beyond just the Larkin rumors.

Detroit could end up with quite a different roster by the time the 2026-27 NHL season arrives.
