Reason Rams’ Matthew Stafford ‘Feels Bad’ Amid Aaron Donald’s Comeback Attempt

The future is still uncertain for Aaron Donald’s possible return to NFL action with the Los Angeles Rams. 

As it stands, the future Pro Football Hall of Famer is retired, though he has been working out with the goal of unretiring and playing the game he loves again.

It appears that Donald’s decision hinges on whether he believes he can still make a tremendous impact on the field for the Rams. Donald is 35 years old, and while he’s no longer at his prime, many imagine him being a monster on Los Angeles’ defensive line should he officially unretire.

Los Angeles star quarterback Matthew Stafford would surely love to have Donald back, and as far as he’s concerned, he is more concerned about the well-being of the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award winner’s workout mates than the defensive tackle’s actual form.

Rams QB Stafford Shares Hilarious Reaction to Donald’s Workout

Appearing recently on “The Ryen Russillo Show,” the 38-year-old Stafford spoke candidly about Donald.

“I feel bad for whoever is working out with him because the guy’s an absolute monster,” Stafford said.

Donald and Stafford won a Super Bowl together with the Rams, so they know what it takes to win it all in the NFL.

At the same time, Stafford said that he’s going to be fine with whichever decision Donald makes.

However, Donald has only so much time to make the call, with the 2026 season about to start. The Rams are scheduled to fly to Australia next week in preparation for their Week 1 game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sept. 10.
