Real move ahead of PSG in Diomande race
According to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany, Real Madrid have now moved ahead of Paris Saint-Germain in the race for the signature of RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande. The 19-year-old winger has verbal agreements in place with both clubs at this point – both have offered five-year contracts, but neither has managed to reach an agreement with Leipzig as of yet.
Liverpool had an offer of €80 million fixed and €20 million in add-ons rejected, and Real fared no better with their initial one, which consisted of €90m plus €10m. There is plenty of speculation on what amount it would take for the Bundesliga side to sell, which they’re apparently willing to do at a suitable price, but €100 million in total obviously isn’t enough.
Manchester City have also made enquiries, but no offer has come from the Etihad as of yet.
Should Diomande move to Real Madrid, it would likely affect the future of Vinicius Junior, who has a year on his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu and has emerged as a target for Arsenal.
