The aforementioned information comes after Courtois suffered an injury during Belgium’s 2-1 quarter-final defeat to Spain. 

The goalkeeper went down holding the upper outside of his left thigh before being forced off, bringing an abrupt end to both his evening and Belgium’s hopes of progressing further in the tournament.

Senne Lammens replaced him, while an emotional Courtois left the pitch in tears as Belgium’s World Cup campaign came to an end.

Despite those scenes, the Real Madrid goalkeeper attempted to reassure that the biggest issue was striking the ball rather than moving around the pitch, and he even told Belgium’s coaching staff that he believed he could have continued if absolutely necessary.
