Here’s a roundup of some of the day’s smaller stories (that didn’t make the headlines already).

on the elections

“In the end, Real Madrid is the one that benefits from the election. That’s what’s important, that big names emerge. The good thing is that when there are candidates for Real Madrid who want to do things right for and on behalf of Real Madrid, then everyone will choose the one they prefer. Any name that comes up is welcome.”

Casillas also joked about some of the names that have been mentioned throughout the campaign, including Erling Haaland and José Mourinho.

“I don’t know… Haaland, Mbappé, Vinicius, and Mourinho could also be a good fit. It would be interesting. We’ll see what happens on Sunday. Whoever it is, I hope it’s the best for Real Madrid.”

Netherlands manager Ronald Koeman was asked about Denzel Dumfries’ reported move to Real Madrid.

While stopping short of confirming the transfer, Koeman admitted he believes the Inter Milan full-back deserves the opportunity.

“I don’t know if the transfer is completely finalized, but if anyone deserves it, it’s him. I would have preferred him to go to Barcelona.”

Meanwhile, Netherlands midfielder Tijjani Reijnders was similarly positive when asked about Dumfries’ reported move while on international duty.

“We’ve all congratulated Denzel, it’s a big step for him and we’re very happy for him. He’s shown what he can do in the last two seasons, so it’s more than justified.”
