Real Madrid consider move for Arsenal defender Hincapie
Real Madrid is interested in Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie, according to ESPN.
The Spanish giants are said to be looking for another center-back this summer, and Hincapie is one of the names under consideration. The Ecuador international only joined Arsenal from Bayer Leverkusen last year, but his ability to play both centrally and on the left side of defense has made him an attractive option.
Hincapie became a useful part of Mikel Arteta’s squad during his first season in North London, making 39 appearances across all competitions. Arsenal made his move permanent for a fee in the region of €53 million, which means any quick exit would likely require a significant offer.
Real Madrid’s interest could depend on departures. Raul Asencio has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu, and if he leaves, Madrid would have room to add another defender to the squad.
