Diomande had previously indicated a preference to join Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer, but the Ligue 1 giants have reportedly withdrawn from negotiations.

PSG are not ready to meet Leipzig’s enormous valuation as well as the player’s salary demands.

Madrid are in the market for an elite forward, with Franco Mastantuono enduring a difficult debut season and Brahim Diaz looking to jump ship in search of playing time.

They have submitted a second offer worth €120 million for Diomande after their initial bid was turned down by Leipzig.

The La Liga club’s latest proposal is also expected to be rejected, but there is confidence on all sides a deal will be agreed soon.

Diomande has emerged as one of the best young forwards in the world after joining Leipzig in 2025.

He hit the ground running at the Red Bull Arena, bagging 13 goals and 10 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

The 19-year-old also represented Ivory Coast at the summer’s World Cup, starting all four matches for his country.

His excellent development has caught the eye of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, including Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.

But it appears Diomande will be heading to Madrid, who are determined to secure the sensational teenager’s signature before the end of the transfer window

The forward is highly rated for his blistering pace, dribbling skills and versatility across the frontline.
