The Rays’ Kevin Cash names his GameTampa Bay Rays need to wait another day to tie the 2026 ALCS. On Friday night, Game 4 of the ALCS was postponed due to pouring rain in Cleveland, Ohio. Game 4 against the Cleveland Guardians will now take place on Saturday night.

Rays manager Kevin Cash has already made one major decision, though. When his team takes the field for Game 4, he knows exactly who he’s turning the ball over to.

Martinez was set to start for the Rays in Game 4. He would have taken the mound with his team facing a 2-1 series deficit. Cleveland won Game 1, while the Rays took Game 2 to split the opening two games in Tampa.

The series shifted to Cleveland for Game 3. It was an afternoon tilt between the teams on Thursday. And it ended with the hosts taking home the spoils. The Guardians won 3-2 on Thursday afternoon to step a little closer to the American League pennant.

The Rays have not made the World Series since 2020. They lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers that season and have spent the rest of the decade trying to reach this point again. If they do advance, they won’t take on the Dodgers in a rematch, though.

The Milwaukee Brewers swept the Dodgers on Thursday night to win the NLCS. Milwaukee is making its second appearance in the World Series. However, they are representing the NL for the first time. They were in the American League when they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1982 World Series.

The Rays are hoping to return to the Fall Classic this season. First, they need to focus on tying up the ALCS. They are in action again on Saturday night in Cleveland.
