CHESTER — Ramsey won its NJSIAA Group 2 state semifinal matchup with a 6-3 win over West Morris on Monday. Ramsey now heads to the group championship game versus the winner of Haddon Heights and Gov. Livingston, which will be played at Rutgers University Sunday.

Ramsey (21-8) advanced to the group stage by beating No. 13 seed Dumont, No. 5 seed River Dell, No. 1 seed Westwood and No. 7 seed Glen Rock. Senior Roberto Cotes delivered a walk-off single in the sectional title game to advance past Glen Rock in nine innings.

On Monday, no walk-off was needed. The Rams jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the fourth inning and never looked back. They scored four in the third to open the scoring, then Connor McNally launched a two-run homer in the following inning.

Though West Morris clawed back with three runs to make it a close game, Ramsey sealed the win with a 1-2-3 seventh.

Rams starting pitcher Joe Scarnecchia, who entered with a team-best 1.35 ERA, pitched a complete game to send Ramsey to the finals.
