RailRiders drop 6th game out of last 7 outings
MOOSIC, PA(WBRE/WYOU)– The Charlotte Knights score twice in the first, third, and fourth innings to take an early lead and not look back. The RailRiders 7-2 loss to Charlotte is the teams sixth loss in the team’s last seven games. The loss drops SWB to 25-19 for the second half of the season. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre now sits 2.5 games out of first place.
The RailRiders evened the game at two runs a piece in the second inning. Tyler Hardman and Kenedy Corona each driving in a run. Those were the only runs though for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Wednesday.
The Knights took back the lead in the third inning at 4-2, and then extending it to 6-2 in the fourth inning. Both in the third and fourth the runs came off of two-run home runs. Charlotte added one more on in top of the ninth to finish the 7-2 rout.
Xaiver Rivas took the loss on Wednesday night. Rivas tossed 3.1 innings allowing six earned runs, on five hits and four walks.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre tries to stop its four game losing streak on Thursday, August 20th. First pitch at PNC Field is scheduled for 7:05pm.
