Raiders TE Brock Bowers named to PFF’s Week 3 Team of the Week

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers returned from a knee injury in Week 3 and turned in a stellar performance in the team’s 35-27 win over the New Orleans Saints. Bowers missed the first two weeks of the season due to the injury, but was quickly established as the team’s go-to option out of the gates in Week 3, and turned ample looks from Kirk Cousins into a gaudy stat line.

Pro Football Focus named Bowers to its Week 3 Team of the Week following his standout performance against the Saints.

Bowers finished with 10 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown on 13 targets, leading Las Vegas in catches, targets and receiving yards. His fourth-quarter touchdown gave the Raiders a decisive late score that put them up 35-27 and helped the team ice a huge win on the road. He led all tight ends in the NFL receiving yards on the week, setting him apart from his peers at the position in the league.

The 23-year-old Bowers showed no rust, quickly reestablishing himself as one of the league’s most talented pass-catchers. He ran his first several routes of the game with wowing speed, twitch and explosiveness. He also consistently created separation, and developed a positive early connection with Cousins en route to a win.

Bowers’ Week 3 performance gives the Raiders a an encouraging debut to go off of for an offense that will depend heavily on his production as the season continues.
