Raiders injury news: Ashton Jeanty practicing Wednesday
The Las Vegas Raiders‘ optimism that starting running back Ashton Jeanty will be ready to play Sunday in the Week 1 season opener against Miami Dolphins took a big step forward Wednesday when head coach Klint Kubiak said the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 draft will practice.
It’s Jeanty first practice since he injured his ankle August 23 in practice. This is continued good news after the team was initially worried Jeanty suffered a serious injury. Kubiak didn’t say whether Jeanty will be limited or whether he will practice fully Wednesday. The team will release an injury report later Wednesday. Last week, both Kubiak and Raiders’ general manager John Spytek expressed optimism that Jeanty will be available in Week 1.
On Wednesday, Kubiak went as far to say he expects all of the team’s 53 players to be ready to play Sunday. That is significant for a team that has been mostly healthy since the start of training camp. So, barring any changes, all of the Raiders’ inactive players Sunday will be coach’s decisions and not injury based.
If he continues to go in the right direction, both Jeanty and rookie Mike Washington should get their share of carries Sunday.
