Racing didn’t slow down for the last weekend of July. NASCAR ran three full national touring series at Indianapolis, Formula 1 crowned a new winner in Hungary, NHRA’s nitro cars roared through the Pacific Northwest, and Ferrari’s one-make series took over Sonoma. Here’s a full rundown of who won what.

Corey Heim delivered one of the biggest upsets of the NASCAR season on Sunday, holding off Christopher Bell and three-time champion Joey Logano over the closing laps at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to claim his second career Cup Series victory. Chase Briscoe and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top five at the storied 2.5-mile oval. Earlier in the weekend, Todd Gilliland topped Ryan Blaney to win the Cup Series In-Season Challenge, also held at Indianapolis.

Carson Kvapil picked up the first Xfinity Series win of his career on Saturday at Indianapolis, fending off Justin Allgaier to take the checkered flag. Ross Chastain and Chase Elliott finished third and fourth, with William Sawalich completing the top five.

Layne Riggs was untouchable on Friday night at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, leading 198 of 200 laps to win the TSport 200 and defend his victory from a year ago at the short track. Connor Mosack, Ty Majeski and Chandler Smith trailed him across the line.

Lando Norris scored his first win of the 2026 season on Sunday at the Hungaroring, beating Max Verstappen and a charging Andrea Kimi Antonelli in a tense Hungarian Grand Prix. Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton completed the top five for Ferrari, though Hamilton’s title hopes took another hit in Budapest.

NHRA’s Mission Foods Drag Racing Series rolled into Pacific Raceways near Seattle for the Muckleshoot Casino Resort NHRA Northwest Nationals. Doug Kalitta and J.R. Todd gave Kalitta Motorsports a double win in the Top Fuel and Funny Car categories, while Greg Anderson picked up his 12th Pro Stock win of the season.

Sonoma Raceway hosted Round 5 of Ferrari Challenge North America, where Johnny Kaminskey and Michael Mathes each led flag-to-flag to win their respective classes in Saturday’s opening race, continuing Kaminskey’s streak of victories at every track visited so far in 2026.

MotoGP and IndyCar were both off this weekend, with the MotoGP paddock in the middle of its summer break and IndyCar’s next event not until later in the schedule. Full speed resumes for all series in the coming weeks.
