Puerto Rican boxer, Prichard Colon, is dead at the age of 33.

Colon died after a lengthy health battle as a result of injuries he suffered in the ring.

The World Boxing Organization, WBO, confirmed the sad news in a post on X on Thursday.

“A warrior until the very end,” WBO said.

“The WBO family mourns the passing of Prichard Colón, whose courage, strength, and fighting spirit transcended the ring. Rest in peace, champion.”

Colon suffered life-changing injuries in the ring following a defeat to Terrel Williams back in 2015.

He was left in a persistent vegetative state following repeated blows he took to the back of the head during the bout.

Colon was unbeaten in 16 bouts before his October 2015 fight with Williams.
