PSG Faces Atletico Madrid Interest for Barcelona Star

Paris Saint-Germain continues in the search to reinforce its squad for next season, and among the players it would most like to have is Ferran Torres.

In recent weeks, the name of Torres, 26, a forward for FC Barcelona, has sounded strongly as a candidate to join the team coached by Luis Enrique.

Rumor has it that the young Spaniard is also willing to join the Parisian club. His future had been in doubt for some time, and with his contractual situation up in the air, these rumors arrived at just the right time to decide it.

For now, PSG has competition. According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, who reported on RadioMARCA, Ferran has a new suitor: none other than Atletico Madrid.

Moretto assures that Atletico Madrid’s sporting director, Mateu Alemany, finds Torres’ play extraordinary, so he does not guarantee 100% that the Spaniard will stay with Barcelona; rather, his future looks too open.

Luis Enrique has become fixated on signing the forward, or at least that is what is heard in the news. Torres’ maturity and versatility are qualities the PSG coach cannot overlook, as he can play not only as a winger but also in the center.

That Luis Enrique wants him is not surprising, but there is another player who remains on his mind: Eli Junior Kroupi, who is supposedly above Torres on the coach’s wish list.

Since 2021, Ferran has been considered among the best players at FC Barcelona, and even so, it was not until the 2024/2025 season that the forward experienced a significant rise in his performance, with last season being his best, recording 21 goals and 3 assists.

However, Diario SPORT also reported that Paris Saint-Germain is not considering accepting the €50 million that Barcelona has valued Ferran at.

Amid these rumors, Barcelona president Joan Laporta has already spoken out, saying he knows nothing about them. Ferran is still a Barcelona player, and as far as he knows, he is doing very well in the 2026 World Cup.

The forward’s future in Paris still looks very uncertain, and despite interest from both Torres and Paris Saint-Germain, it remains to be seen whether the clubs reach an agreement.

But for now, he will set his situation aside as he prepares to face the French national team in the World Cup semifinal this coming Tuesday, and although the French are favored, his national team has also had a great run and is among the favorites.
