PSG are inching closer to a deal to sign Ferran Torres, according to the latest reports.

Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has just taken to Twitter to update the world on the upcoming move, which has been rumoured for a while but only picked up momentum at the end of last week.

The World Cup winner is a valued player for Barca, but has told them he wants to leave, putting them in a difficult position. The fact that he has just one year left on his contract makes things even trickier, and also reduces the price they can ask for him.

They have little choice but to sell the 26 year old.

PSG feel they’ve got bargain with Torres at €50m

Romano reports that PSG have sent a bid of €50m “total package” to Barcelona, who are expected to accept it. The Parisians feel they’re getting a good deal, because Torres would be expected to cost £70m or £80m if he had more than a year on his contract.

Torres has played across the front line in his career, but will probably be used most often as a backup striker for PSG, who sold Goncalo Ramos to AC Milan earlier in the summer.

Romano says the talks here are at their “final stages” between the clubs, and given Torres has already agreed his personal terms with the French side, this deal could be wrapped up by the end of the week, allowing the former Valencia and Man City man to head to PSG’s preseason.
