Premier League club plan bid for Nice full-back Melvin Bard

An unnamed Premier League club are preparing a concrete offer in a bid to secure the services of OGC Nice’s Melvin Bard (25), according to information from Foot Mercato.

A key figure in Les Aiglons’ dressing room, the left-back – who can also play as a wing-back – was notably targeted by AFC Sunderland last summer. And whilst his contract runs until 2028, Nice’s management are reportedly unwilling to let him go for less than €10m.

Having come through the ranks at Olympique Lyonnais’ academy, Bard joined the Côte d’Azur side in the summer of 2021 for a fee of €3m. Since then, the Écully-born player has established himself as a regular starter for the red and black side, and has now made nearly 192 appearances for OGCN.

Having been named captain on several occasions in recent months, Bard rounded off his 2025-26 season with 44 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing one assist.
