Post 346 defeats Danville to improve to 23-2

Wayne Newton Post 346 won again to improve its American Legion baseball record to 23-2 by defeating Post 210 from Danville 7-5 in a road contest Tuesday night.

Danville jumped out to an early 5-0 lead with three runs in the first inning and two in the second before Wayne Newton exploded for five in the third before adding insurance runs in the fifth and sixth.

Parker Weir had a double, while Colten Moore had an RBI with each player contributing two hits. Ian Samm had a double and two runs scored with Linden Jenkins adding three RBIs, while Hunter Mason and Parker Higham each had an RBI. Noah Fields had a hit and a run scored.

Post 346 heads to the Crawfordsville tournament at North Montgomery High School at 10 a.m. Thursday. After that, Post 346 heads to postseason play, starting with the American Legion regional tournament at Terre Haute North High School on July 16.
