Bernardo Silva is currently one of the hottest prizes available in the transfer market right now as the experienced playmaker will become a free agent after running down his contract at Manchester City.

Silva has already been linked with a move to a number of clubs, but it appears La Liga could be his likely destination with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid emerging as potential suitors.

Barcelona, in particular, have been touted as a potential destination for the Portuguese international.

Now, Silva himself has admitted that Barcelona are indeed an option as he looks to take the next step in his career.

Speaking to a Portuguese newspaper, Silva said he hasn’t yet made a final decision on his future, but Barça remain pretty much an option.

“Barça? It’s an option I have, but I haven’t made a decision yet,” he said (h/t Diario SPORT).

The Portuguese international, though, did not opt to go into detail about his contracts with Barcelona, offering a more vague outlook on his future.

The truth is I have many options, and I’m not going to talk about a specific club if I haven’t made a decision and haven’t signed with that club,” he said.

“I’m going to try to be on a team where I’m wanted, where I feel truly wanted. That’s very important to me,” he added.

Barcelona are tipped as the club leading the race to sign Bernardo Silva this summer, but the club are facing a few roadblocks.

They need to acquire the approval of Hansi Flick, who is concerned about overstacking. Perhaps more importantly, the club need to sanction the sale of a few fringe players in order to make room for Silva.

Therefore, it won’t be surprising to see the Silva transfer saga drag on until July – something the media has reported in recent times.
