Paul Pogba believes Manchester United can win the Premier League under Michael Carrick in the “next three years”.

United saw a major upturn under Carrick after he replaced Ruben Amorim in January and finished third in the Premier League, clinching Champions League qualification.

Carrick won 12 of his 17 Premier League games in charge (D3 L2), recording a 70.6% win ratio.

From Carrick’s first game in charge – a 2-1 Manchester derby win on January 17 – no team won more games (12) or earned more points (39) than United in the competition.

In fact, he had the best points-per-game average of any manager in the Premier League in 2025-26 (2.29). Indeed, it is the best by any United manager in a league season since Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in 2012-13 (2.34).

United had endured a disappointing start to 2025-26, being knocked out after their first game in both the EFL Cup and FA Cup, while they did not compete in Europe having failed to qualify after losing the Europa League final.

Carrick was named their permanent head coach last month, and Pogba is confident he can lead them to more success and end their wait – which currently sits at 13 years – for a league title.

“I played with him. I also had him as a coach,” Pogba told talkSPORT of Carrick.

“When he came here, the team changed totally, and it’s going to be a big test for them next season.

“I think Manchester United will win in the next few years. They’re gonna be champions of the Premier League.

“If Arsenal can be champions, Manchester United will definitely be champions. It’s a big statement… but I believe they will.”

When asked whether they could win it in the next five years, he added: “Yes, I believe so.

“I probably say next three years, next three years, in my opinion. Yeah, I think they can make it in the next three years.”
