Plymouth sign Mansfield's Evans on two-year deal
Plymouth Argyle manager Tom Cleverley says he can help Will Evans improve after the striker signed from Mansfield Town.
The 29-year-old has moved for an undiclosed fee and signed a two-year deal, with the option of a further year, at Home Park after impressing Cleverley last season.
“I am thrilled. He’s a player who has been on my radar for a long time. He wears his heart on his sleeve and we can improve him,” Cleverley told BBC Radio Devon.
“He has scored 49 goals in his last three seasons, he comes in as a striker and fits in exactly with how we play.
“Everything about the signing makes sense. He gave us nightmares last season and we can get him cleaner in front of goal.”
Evans scored the opener in a 2-0 win for Mansfield against Plymouth last October and scored 11 times in total last season.
Argyle have been chasing a striker since they sold Lorent Tolaj to Bristol City earlier this summer.
