Paul Skenes didn’t pass up a little moment to give back.

The Pittsburgh Pirates‘ superstar pitcher was apparently driving home, spotted some Little Leaguers at work, and pulled right in.

Then, Skenes hung around with the young ballplayers for a while, giving them a glimpse at the local MLB star while probably getting plenty of relaxing enjoyment out of it himself.

The story went viral on social media:

Paul Skenes is an awesome human in case anyone was wondering.

He was driving by the Ingomar Franklin Park Little League baseball fields last night and saw the lights on and just pulled on in.

He was there over 2 hours signing, taking pictures and playing catch with the kids. pic.twitter.com/oHsYc2qyqP

For Skenes, it was probably nice to just be somewhere that everything felt a bit simpler.

Clearly, he was going to attract attention, but for wholesome reasons.

The youngsters now have a memory they won’t ever forget. They’ll tell all their friends how they got to play catch with Skenes.

Fans in the comments are already pointing out that Skenes might not be in Pittsburgh long, that when his free agency arrives, he’ll sign in one of the big coastal cities and never look back.

But on a night like this, there probably was no place Skenes would rather be.
