Phillies commit another ugly base running blunder against Dodgers

· · 1 min read

The Philadelphia Phillies continue to make questionable decisions while running the bases during this week’s series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

Trea Turner reached first base on a fielder’s choice out in the bottom of the fifth … only because Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy tagged out Bryson Stott, who for some reason decided to run from second to third with one out.

The game had just been tied 3-3 during the inning on a Bryan De La Cruz home run. But Stott’s blunder halted the momentum with Kyle Schwarber popping out to end the inning.

“What are these guys doing.” 🤣

The Dodgers jumped back in front the next frame.

The Phillies’ poor base running proved costly on Tuesday, July 21, as they lost 2-1 thanks to a disastrous final sequence.
