Phillies-Angels Trade Pitch Would Finally Land Mike Trout With Contender

The Philadelphia Phillies could use a boost in the outfield and the Los Angeles Angels are a team that is having a bad season and has an outfielder worth looking into. 

Angels superstar Mike Trout would be the perfect target for the Phillies. It doesn’t hurt that he’s from around the area as well. Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller pitched a mock trade that both sides should be all over. 

“The Trade: Los Angeles Angels send CF Mike Trout to Philadelphia Phillies for RHP Gage Wood and CF Justin Crawford,” Miller wrote. How Realistic Are We Talking? Now roughly two-thirds of the way through his 12-year, $426.5M contract, what we’ve consistently heard about Mike Trout is that he’s perfectly happy in Anaheim and would be unlikely to waive his no-trade clause if the Angels ever came to him with a proposal.

“However, what we also know about Trout is that he’s a Jersey kid who grew up as a huge Phillies fan. If he’s going to go anywhere in pursuit of a ring, Philadelphia seems the likeliest destination, by far. And the Phillies could certainly use some outfield help.”

Now, it would be pretty surprising to see Trout on the move. But if any team would make sense for him, it would be the Phillies.
